The Jackie Pang Fund

Our mission is two-fold - to honor Jackie's passion for teaching and education, and to support Frontotemporal Degeneration research and families facing an FTD diagnosis.

OUR STORY

When Jackie Pang became quiet, withdrawn, “just not herself,” we thought it might be related to stress or depression. With no family history of dementia, her February 2017 diagnosis of Behavioral Variant Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD), came as a complete shock. Jackie was 60 years old when she received her FTD diagnosis and her 22-year career as a kindergarten teacher was brought to an unexpected early end. Jackie passed away at home on April 24, 2020. Our family immediately created The Jackie Pang Fund, a certified 501c3 non-profit organization, in her honor and memory.

NEW! The Jackie Pang Library Builder Project

Jackie loved books and loved reading to her students. In her name, The Jackie Pang Fund has launched a Library Builder Project. 10 books per year will be donated to each of the South Brunswick Township Schools. That's 100 books in memory of our Jackie!

The Jackie Pang Fund New Teacher Grants

Since our inception in 2020, The Jackie Pang Fund awarded 58 New Teacher Grants, totaling over $11,000, to help new educators defray the expense of setting up a new classroom in the South Brunswick School District. Thank you for your generous donations to honor Jackie's love of teaching. We are honored to give back to the community in this way.
